Anna has been working on the web since graduating from Sheridan College in 1995. Anna was hired into IBM's nascent e-business department to be one of their creative specialists. Learning coding, design and web-principles at the same time, Anna cut her web-design teeth along with the new department. While at IBM, Anna gained an excellent understanding of project work, learned to work with and lead creative and technical teams, and had the opportunity to work with some of Canada's top corporations.
In 1999, Anna moved to New York, to work with Goldman Sachs in their Equity Capital Markets division. While working on an internal project for some of their largest broker-dealers, Anna was exposed to a different world of power, money and expertise. Learning to work at the New York pace, while still maintaining the same customer service excellence proved to be a challenging experience. After leading the creative team at GS for two years, Anna decided to return to her home town of Toronto in the fall of 2001.
Focusing on the Toronto market since her return from New York, as well as raising two children, Anna has perfected the art of
multi-tasking. Working on smaller projects has allowed Anna to be more flexible with the schedule and delivery of each project. Anna is happy to work as part of a larger team, or to work on an entire project including the project managment, design, building and testing each site.
Anna grew up in a house full of creative people. Her father John Pemberton is a painter; her mother Prim Pemberton is a writer and teaches creative writing; her brother Nick is a software developer and a writer; her brother Chris is an architect in San Francisco; her younger brother Josh is a guitar player who writes and records in Toronto. In the extended family there is music, theatre (her aunt is the renowned Canadian actor Clare Coulter) and more. Growing up exposed to music, art and literature as the primary family activities helped form Anna into the creative person she is today.
Anna lives in Riverdale, she is married and has two children.
